DIRECTOR/MANAGER OF TAX


 


Excellent opportunity for a Director/Manager of Tax in Columbus, OH!


Salary is targeted in the $90k - $130K range plus up to 15% bonus and full relocation.


 


Our client is a $15 billion publicly held company in Columbus, OH.  The Director/Manager of Tax will administer the preparation of federal, state and local tax returns in accordance with tax laws and regulations and initiates the making of payments, elections, and files returns on a timely basis as required by the tax laws. Tax areas include insurance, C Corporation, international and tax-exempt organizations. In addition, the individual will recommend corporate position based on research of current and pending tax laws; review accounting procedures for compliance with all laws; manage issues to assist in the settlement of federal, state and local audits; review FAS 109 Balance Sheets. The Director/Manager will also support the research of new tax strategies, work with consultants in providing business partner information on operational concerns. Tax areas include life (main focus) and property/casualty insurance, C Corporation, international and tax-exempt organizations


REQUIREMENTS:


 



  • Undergraduate degree with studies in tax, law or accounting. Progress towards Master in Taxation.

  • CPA or JD

  • FAS 109/Fin 48 experience

  • Tax accounting experience within the insurance industry, public accounting firm or law firm.

  • Background check and credit check required (at the end of the process)

  • 8-15 years of experience including 3+ years of management experience

  • Six years tax management experience
